The Girl Who Could Fly

This is a wonderful book; I couldn't stop reading! The first time I borrowed it from the library in 5th grade, and even then it was wonderful. But I kept thinking about it, and I wanted to read it again. So buying it wasn't a mistake; I read it again and again and again and again and . . .
For one thing, I like how the author, Victoria Forester, doesn't limit her use of exclamation marks. For example, when someone screams, "NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!," she doesn't just use one exclamation mark (which is total under-exaggeration) but several that pretty much sum up the yell. There are lots of exclamation marks (at appropriate times, of course), just like how you would put them down in your journal or blog. :) Another thing I really liked is that it's written in a manner that helps you relate to the character's feelings, like when it tells you the motive behind saying a certain thing.

I also love the expanded idea of superpowers. Any of those powers that the kids have would be so totally cool!!!! Why don't I do a Pro/Con of each of them? The powers are genius (30x smarter than Einstein, maybe more), shrinking/growing, telekinesis, flying, healing, X-Ray vision, electric touch, unbelievable strength, unbelievable speed, making weather, invisibility, and the most beautiful colours flowing from your touch. Only a couple wouldn't be as amazing as the others, but any superpower is better than none at all. :D Right? So, in my next post I'll begin with genius. TTYL,
Super Twist
