In real life, a person's diary wouldn't be that detailed. They wouldn't remember every conversation and besides, they would recount all the details of the day and not just the major event. I'd rather Nikki be like that - to include everything that's quirky, just like in the first book. Anyway, the things I've noticed have led me to the conclusion that it could be just a book and not necessarily a diary:
1. All conversations are recorded word-for-word, and if somebody "giggled" something, or "said nervously", etcetera, it's always there.
2. The drawings are so detailed, I'm wondering how someone could have enough time to do homework, go to school, write in a diary AND draw something SUPER-detailedly!! I sure wouldn't have the time. Too much hw, you know.
3. There's always something going on in the book/ Nikki's life, something separate for every month, WHICH doesn't apply to even like 10% of people's lives.
But here are some things I like:
1. The smell (this series seem to have their own personal book smell. So do graphic novels by Raina Telgemier, the Hunger Games series, and so on)
2. The drawings are soooooo good! And I don't know why Nikki worries about Brandon not liking her. It's paranoid! He asked her to the Halloween dance and gave her a bouquet of flowers!
3. Everything is quirky.
TWWIIIIISTT!!!!!!!!! It's a booooook! OF COURSE it's not realistic.... Hehe :)))))))))
