Cheap Convo Tools

I've noticed that, often, when I try to tell someone something that was supposed to be funny or sarcastic or an ironic comment on something, all they ever have to say is "wow." Seriously, everyone! Can't people just come up with something original? "Wow" can mean a LOT of things.
Recently, it hasn't been used for the oh-my-gosh-this-is-so-cool type. Now, it's more of a . . . uhhh . . . that's interesting sarcastic response. The word "wow" must be at least a little offended, don't you think? When using the latter kind of "wow," it's almost always underlined with a vocal fry. I hate vocal fry! It annoys the WATERmelon out of me . . . which is SAYING something!

On IM, though, you can say "lol" to anything. Why? It's supposed to mean "laughing out loud" but now it's a silent response that doesn't mean that it actually made you laugh; you say LOL with no effort at all. People lol at everything!

Video on Youtube? LOL!
I say "she looked at me all doe-eyed"? LOL!
I have an awful headache? LOL!
On Twitter, when someone says they got sap on them from the Christmas tree? LOL!

And tree sap is NOT FUNNY AT ALL!!!!!! *sourly* at least, not when it happens to YOU.

  1. Sometimes I actually laugh when I say "lol."
I also use "lol" only when something is funny, to me anyways.
